It’s hard pin down the UK’s progress and commitment to creating an open and accountable government. On the one hand it is somewhat of a trailblazer, having set the agenda by being one of the founding members of the Open Government Partnership – an international initiative that provides a platform for governments around the world to develop reforms that “promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption and harness new technologies to strengthen governance”.
