The UK is developing its fourth open government action plan.
This is part of the UK’s promise as a member of the Open Government Partnership since 2011, to work with citizens and civil society to develop and implement open government reforms. Action plans are developed and then implemented in two-year cycles. This year sees the UK develop and launch its 2018-2020 open government national action plan.
The UK action plan is due to be launched in Autumn 2018.
Scotland is developing its second open government action plan.
Scotland is developing its second open government action plan as part of the Open Government Partnership Local Programme which invites other levels of government that are closer to citizens such as federal, devolved or municipal entities, to develop their own action plans with local civil society. The Open Government Network Scotland is coordinated by SCVO.
The Scottish action plan is due to be launched after the summer.
Open government action plans are also being developed in Northern Ireland and Cymru/Wales. The Northern Irish and Welsh action plans are due to be launched after the summer.
